Many landscapes are just perceived as “filling empty areas between buildings, housing developments, highways and urban centres, or being vague sectors capable of managing themselves”. In other words, they are often described as vacant areas with little value, just waiting to be developed, to be rendered useful with some identifiable (mostly economic or functional) functions…

CANADIAN LANDSCAPE PORTFOLIO INITIATIVE

THE LIVING LANDSCAPES ARE COMING...

What is coming in 2018? A lot actually...

Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, Emily Sinclair (Kaili Brown)

The Canadian Landscape Portfolio has completed its third year of images collection illustrating Canadian Landscape architects perception of their favourite landscapes.

But the exploration is far from finished...

2018 will continue the exploration on how landscapes are perceived and appreciated by landscapes architects and the general public through the "Living Landscapes". If we remember our 3 first themes - Significant, Designed and Dreamed Landscapes - we can imagine how inclusive this new theme can be

More information will be posted in the coming weeks about the new theme. In the meantime, you can submit images using the dedicated submission form or with the Instagram hashtags #cslaportfolioaapc or #clportfolio. Instagram will permit you to visualize immediately your post...

GOOD VISIT...

IS THIS A "DREAMED LANDSCAPE"?

This is certainly a question we could ask ourselves when we are in a space, a place, a "landscape" which perplex us with its pertinence, functionality, workmanship or its intrinsic power...

Kenney Lake, Mount Robson, BC

Whichever characteristic draws your attention towards this place, it is likely worth sharing through the Canadian Landscape Portfolio by using the submission form, or with Instagram - hashtags #clpcanada or #clpifla #clpcanada or #clpifla...

HAVE A GREAT ADVENTURE

PORTFOLIO THIRD EDITION IS NOW ACCEPTING YOUR SUBMISSIONS

SHARE YOUR DREAMS - CANADIAN LANDSCAPE PORTFOLIO

The theme of the third edition of the Canadian Landscape Portfolio is about DREAMS and we are ready to receive your photo submissions.

Once again, the PORTFOLIO collection will continue to illustrate and be inspired by the principles and values of the Canadian Landscape Charter. The theme "From Landscapes of your Dreams to Dreamed Landscapes" seeks to attract a broad range of participants by inviting landscape architects from around the world as well as the general public to submit photos.

This time around, submissions will be accepted from CSLA members, members of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) and the general public.

Learn more about this project on the CSLA web site. For details on how to submit your photos online, visit our portal for either "Landscape Architects" or the "General Public"

SOMETHING NEW!

We want to make things simple so now you can share on INSTAGRAM.

Submit your Dream Landscape images at one of these two hashtags:

  • #clpcanada - for images of Canadian Landscapes
  • #clpifla - for images taken outside Canada

Peruse the Portfolio's two previous editions here - Significant & Designed Landscapes

ENJOY THE LANDSCAPES OF YOUR DREAMS... AND THANKS FOR SHARING!
